Artificial intelligence in radiology: 100 commercially available products and their scientific evidence

Abstract

Objectives: Map the current landscape of commercially available artificial intelligence (AI) software for radiology and review the availability of their scientific evidence.

Methods: We created an online overview of CE-marked AI software products for clinical radiology based on vendor-supplied product specifications ( www.aiforradiology.com ). Characteristics such as modality, subspeciality, main task, regulatory information, deployment, and pricing model were retrieved. We conducted an extensive literature search on the available scientific evidence of these products. Articles were classified according to a hierarchical model of efficacy.

Abstract

Deep learning is a branch of artificial intelligence where networks of simple interconnected units are used to extract patterns from data in order to solve complex problems. Deep-learning algorithms have shown groundbreaking performance in a variety of sophisticated tasks, especially those related to images. They have often matched or exceeded human performance. Since the medical field of radiology mainly relies on extracting useful information from images, it is a very natural application area for deep learning, and research in this area has rapidly grown in recent years.

Abstract

Radiology includes a wide range of imaging technologies that use different technologies to capture patients' data. Virtual Reality (VR) is an innovative technology that provides a clear virtual image of a patient. We see the vast potential of VR to provide a positive impact in radiology. Most relevant papers on Virtual reality in Healthcare/Radiology are identified from Scopus, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar and ResearchGate. Paper tries to technologically explore VR and its applications to improve radiological training and learners' participation levels. Paper briefs about Virtual reality and its working process steps for radiology based clinical treatments. Supportive features of virtual reality in the broad radiology domain are discussed diagrammatically. This paper's primary strength is identifying and discussing thirteen significant VR applications in radiology.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present algorithms for the diagnostic management of solitary bone lesions incidentally encountered on computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MRI) in adults. Based on review of the current literature and expert opinion, the Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards Committee of the Society of Skeletal Radiology (SSR) proposes a bone reporting and data system (Bone-RADS) for incidentally encountered solitary bone lesions on CT and MRI with four possible diagnostic management recommendations

Radiology artificial intelligence: a systematic review and evaluation of methods (RAISE)

Abstract

Objective: There has been a large amount of research in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) as applied to clinical radiology. However, these studies vary in design and quality and systematic reviews of the entire field are lacking.This systematic review aimed to identify all papers that used deep learning in radiology to survey the literature and to evaluate their methods. We aimed to identify the key questions being addressed in the literature and to identify the most effective methods employed.
